The Farm
Crake Trees Manor is a regenerative farm and we work hard to create a beautiful place, rich in wildlife. Our informal grass camping field, at the centre of the farm is surrounded by wildlife and farm animals.
Around the site you will see free range hens, outdoor pigs (plus piglets during summer) rare breed Border Leicester sheep & lambs and a grazing herd Belted Galloways. Please treat them with respect, we are not a farm park.
What can we do when staying at Crake Trees
Our campsite is set in the Westmorland Dales National Park, is part of The Yorkshire Dales National Park, making it an ideal place to explore the wild north.
The Pennine hills stretch out to the east of the campsite, the Howgills towards Sedbergh to the south and the Scottish borderlands to the distant north.
You can walk to the Butchers Arms, our community pub in the village. Most villages around the valley and towards the lake district have great pubs that make the most of or local foods.
Crake Trees campsite has direct access to Footpaths and Cycling trails. Guide booklets are at the Camp kitchen
Ullswater lake, Lowther Castle, the lovely market town of Penrith and national trust Acorn Bank and Sizergh Castle are all a short drive from Crake Trees.
